With a vacation unlike any other, “it’s the journey, not the destination” will take on new meaning. All aboard this unique auditory experience, as an ordinary commuter train transforms into an incredible voyage.

Tekno Train by Paul Mac, arranged and composed by creative musician and train enthusiast Paul Mac, transforms the mundane commute into a symphony of rhythmic sounds and pulsating graphics.

“Trains have always interested me. Their combination of rhythmic clicks and clacks, the screech of metal on metal, the sound and smell of air brakes in underground tunnels, and a complicated system of signals and points that mysteriously regulate your path and destination.” – Paul Mac

Choose between the Scenic Route and the Tech Express Route, as each transforms into a responsive canvas and techno soundscape.

As your train passes across the city or across the Harbour Bridge, the experience gets more engaging. As the train accelerates and the scenery outside changes, the environment aboard moves and responds, encouraging passengers to fully immerse themselves in the moment.

Tekno Train by Paul Mac is more than just a journey; it is a collective invitation to tap into our city’s secret pulse. An opportunity to witness city life from the perspective of one of Australia’s best musicians. Tekno Train by Paul Mac offers two routes:

The scenic route

Sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds as the Tekno Train illuminates your journey across the Bridge and down a secret spur to Lavender Bay.

This is the slower of the two journeys and is best suited to families with children aged five and up. Tech Express Take it to the next level by riding a pounding Tekno thrill coaster around City Circle and South Sydney underground. This is the more dynamic, full-bodied excursion for individuals who prefer a fast-paced, immersive encounter. Daily Timetable Please arrive at the Central Station’s Eddy Avenue entrance at least 20 minutes before your departure.

The Vivid Sydney personnel will scan your ticket and direct you to the platform where you’ll begin your adventure. Latecomers will not be able to board; once the train is moving, it’s full speed ahead. You will return to Central Station.

Ride 1 (departs at 6:35pm) – The Scenic Route

Ride 2 (departing at 8:00pm) – Tech Express.

Ride 3 (departing at 9:10pm). – Technology Express

Information on Access and Inclusion You can use a Companion Card with Paul Mac’s Tekno Train. To request a Companion Card ticket, please contact the Universe ticketing service. This event is wheelchair-accessible. Please arrive 30 minutes before departure and notify transport staff if you require assistance. This event features intense sound and lighting.
