Tumbalong Nights begins with the sardonic and dreamy sounds of Sydney’s tiffi, followed by another local institution, Sneaky Sound System, with their addictive electro-pop sounds.
Sneaky Sound System rose to prominence in the Australian music scene with their self-titled 2006 album, which included hit singles “I Love It” and “UFO” and earned them ARIA Awards for Breakthrough Artist and Best Dance Release. The band, known for their explosive live performances and unusual blend of electro-pop with Connie Mitchell’s powerful vocals, continues to be a lively force in both the Australian and international music scenes.
Mallrat is unquestionably one of Australia’s most talented contemporary singer-songwriters. She’s a regular on triple j, has received accolades from NME, NPR, and the New York Times, and was nominated to PAPER’s ‘100 Women Revolutionizing Pop’ list. Her live presentations have been praised for their intimacy and understated charm, much like her intelligent and timeless pop style. She’ll make the Tumbalong Park stage feel like an extension of her living room, welcoming you into her vivid world.
Tiffi, a Taiwanese-Australian singer-songwriter from Western Sydney, has been creating her self-described “bedroom pop goodness” since the age of 11. Tiffany, who has previously performed at SXSW Sydney and opened for Gentperez for his sold-out Sydney shows in 2023, promises an electrifying live performance brimming with her rich and addictive indie pop.
In addition, we’re partnering with national youth organisation The Push to give a group of young people the opportunity to lead the event’s delivery as part of our all-ages events team.
